Acute Care

Acute CareHoward County Community Hospital provides acute care inpatient services for a variety of medical emergencies. Our nursing staff members work closely with other team members to provide optimal patient care. In addition to providing acute care, our Emergency Room is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with a medical provider only minutes away.

In addition, the ER recently received Level 4 Trauma Certification. Emergency and acute care staff have received extensive education and training so that they can be extremely effective when the time arises.

Nurses that staff the ER are trained in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), in addition to taking a Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC). Medical Providers that staff the ER, which include all five Providers, are also trained in BLS, ACLS, PALS, in addition to Advance Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
