Arlan Johnson 
Arlan Johnson accepted the CEO position at HCMC on July 1, 2010. Prior to that time, he served in the role of Clinic Director. Arlan graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Finance. Arlan is currently pursing a Masters of Healthcare Administration degree through Bellvue University. Prior to joining the staff at HCMC, Arlan worked in the banking industry for over 15 years, most recently as a Bank Manager for Bank of the West in Grand Island. Arlan has been employed at HCMC since October of 2007. Arlan, and his wife Kori, reside in St. Paul. They also have four children: Brandon, Madison, Gunnar & Emily.
Thomas Parish
Tom is a senior-level health care executive with extensive financial expertise leading primary and secondary medical centers. Prior leadership positions include Chief Financial Officer experience at acute care, long-term care, behavioral health, substance abuse, hospice, home health, medical clinic, rural health clinic, ambulance, and DME facilities. Tom graduated from Upper Iowa University with of Bachelor of Science in Accounting, and holds an active Certified Public Accounting certificate. Tom has worked in health care for over 40 years covering five states, and seven different hospitals. Tom has been employed at HCMC since October of 2010. Tom and his wife Pauline reside in St. Paul. They have three adult children: Blaine, Jon & Michelle, along with four grandchildren.
Kathy Horn
Kathy Horn is the Chief Nursing Officer at Howard County Medical Center. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Nebraska, and her Masters of Nursing through Western Governors University, based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Kathy has over 19 years of nursing experience in the areas of Medical/Surgical, ICU/Telemetry, Home Health Care/Hospice, Long Term Care, Oncology, Dialysis, and most recently a Nursing Clinical Instructor at Central Community College-Grand Island. Kathy has certification in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, Trauma Nurse Core Course, and Oncology Nursing. Kathy accepted the interim position in December 2010, and the permanent CNO position in March 2011. Kathy and her husband Mike, reside in St. Paul. They have five adult children: Ryan, Nicole, Jamie, Michael & Eric, along with four grandchildren.
Kathleen Hurst
Kathleen Hurst is the Medical Clinic Director at Howard County Medical Center. She officially joined the HCMC staff in September of 2010. She received her Associates Degree in Management with a minor in Medical Office Technology from Central Community College in Grand Island. She has over 18 years of management experience, and has been working in the medical field for over 30 years. Kathleen was born and raised in the Dannebrog area and now lives in Grand Island. She is married to Butch Hurst who is a police officer for the Grand Island Police Department. She also has a son who lives in Texas and a granddaughter who is a freshman at UNK.
Shauna Graham
Shauna Graham is the Human Resource Director at Howard County Medical Center. Shauna graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Finance, and a minor in Marketing/Management. She received her Master’s of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Human Resources in 2008. She recieved her Professional in Human Resources Certification (PHR) in June of 2010. Prior to joining HCMC, Shauna worked as a Credit Manager for Wells Fargo Financial and as a Phone Supervisor for Cabelas, Inc. Shauna has been at HCMC since April of 2007. Shauna, her husband, Zeb, and their daughters Bailey and Ellie reside in Central City.
